Shayne Williams, Executive Director
Shayne Williams was appointed Executive Director of Lookout Emergency Aid Society in June 2014. Lookout was founded in 1971 to address extreme poverty and associated challenges including homelessness, mental/physical health, substance abuse and/or physical disability. Shayne also founded and serves as the Executive Director of Lookout Foundation (formerly SFCS Foundation) which helps to provide funding to support Lookout programs including a low-cost Dental Clinic.
Within in six months of assuming the position, Shayne completed the merger between Lookout and Keys: Housing and Health Solutions, a similar agency that provided complementary services in Surrey. Lookout now offers housing, health, community and support services to vulnerable people living in seven municipalities throughout Metro Vancouver. Shayne’s experiences in completing the merger included bringing together two boards, different unions, different sets of policies, etc. as well as unifying a workforce of nearly 500 individuals.
Shayne was a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient (2013), has a BA in Sociology from the University of Alberta and has been working in the non-profit sector since 1991. He founded and was the Executive Director of a youth organization for several years in Alberta. Just prior to coming to Lookout, Shayne had been with Keys since 2003 where he was the Director of Homeless Services before being appointed the Executive Director in 2010. While there he was instrumental in taking Keys through the Council on Accreditation (COA) process and expanding scope and variety of their programs.
Shayne is very active in the community and participates on a number of Boards and Committees including the Mayor’s Task Force of Mental Health (Vancouver), former Director of Surrey Board of Trade, former Director of Vibrant Surrey Poverty Reduction Society, participant in the Ministry of Social Development’s Homeless Intervention Project, former director of the Greater Vancouver Shelter Strategy Society and an active volunteer for Toque Tuesday-Raising the Roof.

Leonard Levy has over 16 years of experience in business management, planning, direction and operations in the not-for-profit sector and is a key member of our senior management team.
His strength in strategic planning brings direction and fosters a strong sense of team and ownership. His primary roles include internal communications and coordination, human resources, IT and property management oversight. Leonard is currently working towards his undergraduate degree in Business Management through the University of Phoenix.

Megan Kriger became part of the Lookout Society in 2014 when the society merged with Keys: Housing and Health Solutions Society. With Keys she served Executive Director and Director of Operations. In 2008 Megan became the Keys establishing executive director at just 28 years old.
Megan holds a Masters in Leadership, a Bachelors in Communication and has more than five years management experience in higher education. She brings a unique business-minded perspective to a social service environment, and the desire to never accept what is as good enough – there’s always room to do more or do better.

Keir joined Lookout Society in May 2016. Prior to Lookout, he worked for four years with BC Housing, holding a number of positions including Operations Manager, and most recently with ICBC. Keir has a vast education within the legal field and has held senior management positions over the past eight years ranging from operations management, government administration, as well as legal practice.
Keir holds a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts, both obtained from the Australian National University.
He has a passion for sports and volunteer activities including serving as the Vice President of AFL Canada and on the land use committee for the City of Port Moody. Keir is committed to a client-centered approach to service provision, stating that ‘working with and supporting our society’s most vulnerable persons’ is a personal passion and one that he is dedicated to in his role at Lookout.

Wesley Everaars joined Lookout Society after spending three years with Keys: Housing & Health Solutions. Wes has worked in the non-profit sector for more than 20 years.
His experience includes assignments in Europe and Third World countries, where he worked with refugees from war-torn countries. Over the years Wes has worked with various non-profit organizations with mandates dealing with at-risk and high risk population.
Wes has a Masters of Education in Administrative Leadership from Simon Fraser University with a focus on collaborative management approaches.
With his diverse background Wes brings a vast knowledge and expertise plus lived experience to Lookout’s executive team. As Director of Development, he is involved in event planning, proposal writing, community capacity building and finding creative ways to end homelessness.

Leo comes from the Burnaby Family Life Institute where he lead the finance department for seven years. In his role as Financial Officer he reviewed, developed and implemented effective financial strategies, policies and procedures for multiple service contracts.
Leo brings a reputation for solid accounting and auditing practices along with an outstanding ability to analyze and resolve problems. For more than 15 years, Leo has held several finance positions including accounting officer, controller and internal auditor. Along with his extensive financial skills, Leo also is known for his great sense of humour.
