April 29 -- Shayne Williams, executive director of the Lookout Society, had his hair cut today. The lopped off pony tail was delivered to Wigs for Kids B.C., which will use the hair to make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy.
Megan Kriger, the society's director of quality assurance, had the honour of cutting off the hair. It was the first time in more than two years a pair of scissors had been close to Shayne's scalp. It also marks the third time he's had his hair cut off to make wigs for cancer patients.
"I think there's about 15,000 people who are diagnosed with cancer in B.C. every year," said Shayne, who joked that his professional resume desrcibed him as a hair farmer. "We need to come out as much as possible and support them."
