Staff provides support, direction and assistance to enable tenants to work towards greater stability and independence. For example, staff assist residents achieve skills such as cooking, budgeting, schooling, work programs, keeping appointments, taking medications as required, basic hygiene, laundry or harm reduction techniques.

Lookout offers 130 units of transitional housing, including 5 units that are dedicated to people living with HIV. Resident committees help design activities, solve problems and give input into Lookout functions at each site.

In the 12 months preceeding March 2009, Lookout’s Transitional Housing served 219 men and women.
