SUCCESS STORIES

Dear Ms. O'Shannacery:
I am writing to let you know how much your staff assisted in working with a client of Midtown Mental Health Team. ____ came to your shelter when the system within mental health services broke down for him. The level of care and attention he received in almost 14 months of support from your various facilities was exceptional. Truly above and beyond the call of service. (more)

I was in Japan for 10 years, and for the last two, I became quite sick with what I am now told is called schizo-effective bipolar disorder. My last 6 months there was spent locked up in my house. I was unable to talk to people, unable to step out the door, unable to care for myself.
After my family got a hold of me, my sister flew to Japan to bring me home. I was told afterwards that I was sleeping in rotting garbage with no empty spaces to walk in the house. It was infested with flies and decomposed food. I would come in and out of what my sister described as a catatonic state where I would not respond to her at all. Had she not have come to Japan, I don't believe I would be alive today. (more)

I am very grateful for all the services and supports that you have given me. I hope you can help more people in the same situation I was in. Thank you is not enough for putting me back on the road. But thank you, anyways.

I personally would like to thank this organization for helping myself and my dog to restart my life. Marcus especially helped me, found my apartment for me. M.J. also allowed me to come here after Yukon house. A truly good staff experience.
Sincerely, Jeff

Erik, a former client at the Yukon, stopped by the head office recently to drop of a thank you plant, and gave thanks to Lookout for being a part of his current success.
He stated that he is currently living at the Woodwards building and that he is working for the Olympics right now.
He did not want to leave a letter or note and just said if anyone asks let them know who it was from.

A volunteer asked her great nephew who is in grade 3 what he would do to help the homeless and he said I would make their beds and feed them and I would do that on Christmas Day. The volunteer then asked him to write it down and draw a picture.

Dear Dave Brown and Staff at Outreach and Lookout of New Westminster, BC.

I decided it was time to let all of you know how well I am doing. You wouldn't even recognize me. (more) |
