Letter from a Volunteer – Extreme Weather Shelter

…Although I’m now working full time, I am very interested in getting involved on any level with your agency and would like to be considered as a volunteer.

My interest stems from my past and that the Lookout on Alexander St. was my last place of refuge prior to getting into recovery. I am very grateful that it was there for me I when I needed it most and that it provided a bridge for me into the recovery programs that saved my life after living on the streets for seven years. As a result, I would like to give back in some way.

I have 6 years of being active in recovery and have been involved with <Organization> as a weekly member of the AA panel meetings held there.

I am happy to contribute in any way!
