Cook Training Program seeks partners

Lookout seeks a training partner for the startup of a professional basic pre-employment/ employment cook training program targeted to homeless/homeless-at-risk individuals.

The program will be located at the North Shore Shelter and incorporate volunteers and food donations.  The training will offer learning opportunities to develop job ready skills that will lead to employment, further training or other possibilities, such as further education.  This program will help homeless/at-risk individuals become more independent while providing daily nutrition to shelter users.

For more information, please contact Richard Turton at 604-255-0340.

This program is possible thanks to the generosity of Mayor Darrell Mussatto of the City of North Vancouver, Mayor Richard Walton of the District of North Vancouver and Mayor Pamela Goldsmith-Jones of the District of West Vancouver, (pictured here) and their fundraiser, the Inaugural North Shore Mayor’s Golf Tournament. Thank you also to the North Shore Community Foundation, who managed the funds, and made it all possible!
