CANADIAN COALITION OF SHELTERS

Canadian Coalition of Large
Multi-Service Shelters FOUNDING MEMBER

Lookout Emergency Aid Society is proud to announce that it is a founding member of the Canadian Coalition of Large Multi-Service Shelters (CCLMS). The CCLMS was incorporated as a non-profit organization on July 9, 2007.

The Coalition is committed to helping people who are experiencing homelessness make the transition from shelters to a safe, affordable and appropriate home. Its mandate is to act as a forum for and a voice of large multi-service shelters in Canada.

Member organizations of the CCLMS include 16 of Canada’s largest multi-service shelters from across the country.

Our Coalition's objectives are to:

a) Equip large multi-service shelters to assist people experiencing homelessness to transition to a safe, affordable and appropriate home as a foundation for social inclusion.

b) Develop permanent, sufficient, and affordable homes for people experiencing homelessness.

c) Ensure the existence of a resilient safety net for housed clients.

d) Ensure that people who are experiencing homelessness have the necessary support to live in dignity.
